Jane Austen Anniversary: Book discussion evening

Jane Austen Anniversary: Book discussion evening

Join us at the City Library on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, for a special evening celebrating the life and work of Jane Austen. To mark Jane Austen’s anniversary, we are hosting a book discussion focusing on three of her most loved novels: Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Persuasion. Participants are welcome to read one, two, or all three titles, there is no requirement to read them all to take part.

The event will take place in the City Library Activity Room and will begin at 6.30 pm.

The event is free of charge, but booking is required. Once you have booked your place, you can collect a copy of your chosen book from the City Library, subject to availability.

This event is open to everyone, from long-time Jane Austen fans to readers discovering her work for the first time. The discussion will be informal and welcoming, with plenty of opportunity to share ideas and enjoy conversation with fellow readers.
